Spendlab Recovery BV is an AI-enabled accounts payable recovery and management company based in the Netherlands. We leverage proprietary software and machine learning algorithms to help more than 170 government and commercial clients find and recover overpayments.

After a substantial capital investment by Story Capital in late 2023, Spendlab is moving towards a new SaaS-based model to build competitive advantage and redefine the landscape for financial recovery services. We are searching for a new Sales Director to drive our sales strategy and execution, leading the sales team to achieve and surpass their goals. This is a hybrid role based in Spendlab’s HQ just outside Amsterdam.


POSITION DETAILS

SpendLab is looking for an experienced Director of Sales to drive the company’s sales strategy and execution, leading the sales team to achieve and surpass sales goals. This is a pivotal role for expanding Spendlab’s market presence, enhancing customer relationships, and ensuring the efficient operation of the sales processes. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team at Spendlab, the Director of Sales will align sales objectives for the company’s business strategy to foster growth and profitability.


WHAT YOU'LL DO


Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to meet the company’s revenue and growth targets
  • Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to set long-term business objectives
  • Oversee market research and competitor analysis to identify opportunities for growth

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the BDR, Sales and Rev Ops teams
  • Set performance expectations, provide regular feedback and conduct performance reviews
  • Foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability and continuous improvement

Sales Execution

  • Oversee the development and execution of sales plans, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
  • Drive the team to meet and exceed sales quotas and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Ensure effective use of CRM and other sales tools to track and manage sales activities

Revenue Operations

  • Work closely with the Rev Ops team to streamline sales processes and improve efficiency
  • Ensure accurate sales forecasting and reporting
  • Optimise the sales pipeline and customer lifecycle processes

Customer Relationship Management 

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders
  • Address customer needs and concerns to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

Collaboration and Communication

  • Collaborate with Marketing, Product and Operations teams to drive cohesive go-to-market strategies
  • Communicate sales performance and insights to the Senior Leadership Team

Job requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in sales, with at least 5 in a leadership role
  • Sales leadership experience specifically in B2B SaaS
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
  • Experience in managing and developing sales teams
  • Strong understanding of sales operations an CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Strong analytical and forecasting abilities
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Great strategic thinker and problem-solver
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
